The small group made some rare and unique discoveries during this three day outing. Just a portion of the recoveries are pictured.
Standouts included: two Civil War era Virginia Military Institute buttons, a spur rowel hand crafted from a 1742 Mexico 1 reale, several old coins including a half dime, rare date Indian penny, and three large cents, a number of Civil War Union buttons, a Union saddle shield and a keeper from a Civil War sword belt plate. In addition, quite a few US and CS bullets were found. We divided our time between old and new properties. Looking forward to the Fall season!
