September 2018 Deep South Recap

The September Deep South History Hunt will go down as one of the hottest on record. Faced with extreme heat and a plague of mosquitos, the team had a great hunt with some very impressive discoveries.

Some of the highlights included: Several old coins including an 1889 seated liberty dime; three beautiful old brass locks; two rare plantation tokens; a number of Native American artifacts and a glass trade bead; a solid brass hat letter; numerous Civil War bullets, including some rarer types; a Civil War US box plate; and a very rare Confederate Texas button.

The button, a T. Miller Confederate Local Texas button withe faint "CS" in the center, was found on the last day of the hunt. Well done, Henry!
