    The April Virginia History Hunt was made up of both newbies and old hands. The team hunted hard and discovered Civil War artifacts on each of the four days. These included Civil War bullets (only a few of which are pictured); buttons and button backs; gun parts including a Confederate Enfield rifle nose cap and a musket trigger guard; a cap box finial; J-hooks and other miscellaneous bits.     March 2019 Virginia History Hunt Highlights Part 2

    For the last two days of our March outing the four man team searched several areas with great potential for early colonial activity. This slide highlights some of the more notable colonial Virginia discoveries. Included were numerous buckles, bridle bits and mounts dating as early as the mid-1600s; early silver including a bust half dime and quarter cut Spanish Pistereen; Virginia half penny and a very early solid shot 6 pounder cannon ball!

    Four veterans spent four beautiful days hunting and finding history! This slide highlights some of the more notable Civil War-related discoveries. Included were four local manufacture Confederate North Carolina coat buttons; one local manufacture Confederate Virginia coat button; one very rare pre-Civil War Republic of Texas Infantry coat button (plow damaged) and a wide selection of different bullet types, both CS and US.
