History Hunts

History Hunts is launching Archaeology Adventures! These tours will take small groups of guests to important archeological sites with expert guides and offer in-depth cultural immersions and itineraries custom-crafted for history lovers who prefer hands-on experiences.  

 

Our first trip, Explore Ancient Maya, is set for January 14-20, 2018. Arrivals on the 14th and Departures on the 20th.

5 Days of Tours: 

Our focus will be maximizing time exploring and learning about these important Mayan archaeological sites. A local Mayan guide who is highly knowledgeable will be leading us through these sites and offering our small group an in depth chance to see the following:

 

Day 1 – Xunantunich and Chan’s Site (Belize)

Day 2 - Chechen Ha cave and Cahal Pech (Belize)

Day 3 - Tikal (Guatemala) 

Day 4 - Actun Tunichil Muknal Caves (Belize)

Day 5 – Caracol (Belize)

 

Archaeological site Locations:  Belize and Guatemala 

 

Meals: Three authentic and delicious meals provided daily by a local restaurant popular with locals and visitors alike.

 

Accommodations: Centrally located hotel in San Ignacio Town, Belize. All rooms include WiFi, AC, cable TV, private bathrooms.

 

We personally visited Belize this past Summer and had a blast.  The history and people are great.  The Mayan sites are in an unbelievable state of preservation with many still unexcavated.  It’s not unusual to see the artifacts left behind by this great civilization as you walk these sites.  Real adventure awaits!

The cut-off date for signups is December 1. If 4 participants have not paid deposits by this date, it will be cancelled or rescheduled and deposits will be refunded.
