Eight members of our club spent three days metal detecting on several different farms searching for Civil War artifacts. The weather was very cooperative and every day Civil War related discoveries were made. Highlights included: fired and dropped Union and Confederate bullets; railroad baggage tag and watch fobs; a Confederate imported knapsack hook; a frog from an Enfield rifle bayonet scabbard; a handmade unmarked silver turtle pendant; a heavy brass saddle shield decoration and a nice assortment of buttons including a Confederate block “A” coat and a script “I” cuff! Only a portion of the finds are pictured.
